With over 8 years of experience working with children, youth and parents, Kate’s warm and compassionate approach to therapy supports clients in making healthy and meaningful relationships in their lives, navigating life’s stressors and empowering clients to achieve their goals.

Background

Kate is a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Canadian Counsellor. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2013, followed by a Masters of Education in Counselling from the University of Ottawa in 2015. Kate has worked in University settings and within Community Agencies. She enjoys working with children and youth, and their parents to foster positive relationships, connections and communication.

 

Kate offers individual therapy (ages 11+) and parent support.

Therapeutic Style

Kate uses an integrative approach; drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Attachment Focused Therapy to meet the needs and hopes of the client. She works to create a collaborative environment rooted in empathy, understanding and non-judgment. Kate believes each client is the expert in their own life, and focuses on the strengths and skills of the client to empower change and foster growth to reach their goals.
